my 1986 benz 300 e cigarette lighter wires were cut could this be why the radio isn’t working. I pulled out the radio and haven’t noticed anything else cut or broken. will reconnecting the wires again cause my radio to work? Can I get the lighter plug from a auto store. please respond to kiuytg@comcast.net, my yahoo email isn’t working properly.

If the two wires were cut at the same time or the positive wire has touched ground then a fuse has blown. Many cars use the same fuse for the memory, or constant supply for the radio.

it sounds like u should get the lighter fixed and check the fuses to make sure everything is good.

The radio isn’t working because it’s not powered; check where the power is cut; and fix the lighter, may the guy who tampered with it cut something else.

hey empty your e-mail folder…get the new cig. lighter ,,,but check the wires they may have mended/melted together cause of the heat over the years…fuses also, again…
