Citroen Xara Cigarette Lighter Wont Work.?

I am planning on traveling the uk and i have a sat nav but the battery only lasts 3 hours. i bought a car charger but found it didnt work. It works perfectly fine in my Boyfriends car. the cigarette lighter plug is rusty inside, so does this mean i have to get the electrics rewired in my car or can i just replace the cigarette plugs? Any answers would be great thankyou. XxX

you can buy replacement cig lighters in most auto factors they are relatively easy to replace(should screw out and 2 wires just clip off)
or
you can go to your local car dismantelers and ask him/her kindly if they could install it for you

Have you tried checking that the fuse isn’t blown? Check your handbook to find out where the fuse box is and locate the correct fuse.
