  1. E-cigs are a little different per company you go with. There are many types available that include USB powered e-cigs (have to stay connected to a computer to be used), rechargeable battery e-cigs and e-cig liquid cartridges (you refill the cartridge instead of replacing it and thorwing it away). The following information given below is information on the Blu E-Cig found at http://www.blucigs.com, my choice of e-cig. They give you an e-cig that recharges and has disposible cartridges. I’ve used about 4 different brands and I’ve given the rest of them away because I just disn’t use them after picking up the Blu product.
To start off with, the cartridges are filled with nicotine, water and propylene glycol. Propylene glycol is a safe liquid substance used in humidifiers, intravenous injections and the more popular fog machines. It can cause upper respiratory irritation if you’re sensitive but prolonged inhalation use is seen to be healthy. Most cigarettes give you about 8-10mg of nicotine. The high nicotine cartridges are a bit too high for me, personally. Each cartridge gives you about 5 cigarettes worth of “smoke”. I smoke about one cartridge per day using the 12mg strength and I usually smoke about 7 normal cigarettes a day when not using the e-cig.
You must be careful about what is included in the cartridge mix because there are companies out there that do sell cartridges with other toxins included. Usually if you contact the company they can send you a list of what the cartridges contain.
The flavors offered by Blu is Tobacco, Vivid Vanilla, Java Jolt, Magnificent Menthol and Cherry Crush. The flavors (Java, Vanilla, menthol and cherry) are not mixed with a tobacco flavoring. This means that cherry tastes more like a sucker instead of a prime time or other flavored cigarette. If you’re not a fan of the tobacco taste, like me, then the flavors are a very nice change.
The blu starter kit gives you 25 cartridges which last me about two months (about 350 cigarettes per carton). I usually spend about $70 a month (for 12 packs a month) on regular cigarettes but less than half that ($25 for a carton from Blu) for cartridges. That’s a savings of $1050 a year. Seeing how I only make $11,000 a year, it makes a difference. I’ve saved over a full month’s of pay a year!
The batteries are made well and recharge in about 45 minutes, even using the recharging pack that comes with it (which recharges the cigarette about 6 times before it needs recharging). You can usually use it for 6 hours of smoking before it needs to be recharged. There are better battery life lengths out there but those brands don’t offer a on-the-go charger like Blu.
The “atomizer” is actually a heating element that heats the cartridge contents to a vapor where you breathe it in. Naturally with any cartridge there will be a little bit of fluid left when it stops making the vapor. When it starts making the vapor it’s time to change the cartridge.
The Blu product has free shipping, a 30 day money-back guarantee policy (even if you don’t like the product AND it’s used) and a year warranty. Right now their ordering is paused due to back ordering. I suspect it’s due to the FDA pausing a lot of shipments of e-cigs in customs because prolonged use of e-cigs as a nicotine replacement therapy device isn’t proven to be safe in the US. This is pure speculation and customer service hasn’t said one way or another whether it’s really back ordered or being affected by the FDA.
Even though prolonged use hasn’t been proven safe in the US, it’s found safe in many different countries including Austria, Denmark and New Zealand as registered medicine (must have a prescription probably due to strength of nicotine levels) and are free to use in Finland, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
If you do order from Blu, I would reccomend ordering an extra carton of cartridges with your starter kit order to make sure you don’t run out. After using the first carton, order another one. Shipping has been reported lately (on many sites that offer reviews for products) to take a month but that’s most likely due to the back ordering for their product due to high demand. i’d still be prepared just in case.
I hope this helps. Just make sure to research your product you chose to the full extent. I reccomend checking out the following information for any company:
    1: Cartridge contents
2: Battery life length or USB powered
3: Price per cartridge (about $5 a cartridge for Blu which gives you about 75 cigarettes)
I do want to comment on one type of comment I’ve seen a lot from people in forums. Duh, nicotine is addictive. We all know this by now. My only point is, why smoke the real thing and danger your life versus doing it in a much safer way? Please don’t knock the idea of e-cigs, knock the tobacco cigarette it’s self if you want to make the point that smoking is bad. An e-cig isn’t smoking, it’s “vaping” and it’s much healthier for you.
I am not specifically saying “Buy Blu” and am not affiliated with the Blu company… just trying to give information which can generally be applied to most e-cig makers. A lot of the products are the same and work the same.
These are companies I bought from and were satiated with the product:

  2. You just need some more information.
There are forums that you can get help from. Someone would need to know exactly what e-cig you have to really help you. There are so many models. Here are a couple I went to and learned a lot. They are very willing to help newbies without trying to sell you something. http://www.vapersforum.com/htt.....com/forum/
